Confessions of a wannabe athlete #1
Dealing with injuries
So in this short span of 3 weeks, I have been dealt several blows. First I sustained a hairline fracture on my toe, and subsequently tendinitis around the right hip joint/groin. Let's keep it short. The first stage is agony. You ask yourself why must it happen to you. I mean, like of all the people out there, why me. What did I do to deserve this crap? You know it's going to put a halt in your training, possibly a halt in your progress. But let's get over it. The second stage is understanding of the situation. You get over your agony and start to think rationally. Why are you injured? Is it due to a lack of information? Is it due to a dangerous training environment? Or is it due to you progressing too fast? Who knows what's the correct answer. But you assume what you need to assume and seek to solve them. The third stage is taking a step back. You learn something new about yourself. You learn an error which you committed that landed you in this whole mess. You may not have been able to correct it immediately. But you are aware. The forth stage is the next step. You may not have been healed, but you start once again. Slowly. With more information. With better understanding. You don't want to get injured. Lest you hurt yourself. And you hurt them. Now that can't happen right? Injuries are a consequence of not lazing your ass around. Injuries are a part of the journey. Tuesday, August 26, 2014

Overtrained?
Monday was heavy lower day.
3 sets of 6@102.5kg - Managed to pull through with the bare minimum
2 sets of 6@127.5kg - Sumo stance, was a bit awkward
Front Squats followed.
And then something snapped.
Yay for tendinitis.
Pause Squats at 90kg are killing me now. Kinda sucks.
Injuries are the consequence of you not lazing your ass around.
But injuries are also the consequence of poor information.
Let's just say I am still guilty of the latter.
Steep learning curve tho'
:(
Goodness Gracious I can't seem to stop. Haha Saturday, August 23, 2014

Repetition. Tired souls.
I'm really sorry how detached I seem.
It's just been a hurricane of work hassles. People come in thinking my system is flawed. Thinking that it is ineffective. That it is unfair. I was angry. But the anger stemmed from hurt. I was disappointed. Disappointed that I couldn't put out a system which people appreciated. Maybe I was just a bit offended that people didn't appreciate the hard work I put in. Sometimes my thoughts course along the line of "Fuck it all, let them settle their own problems" But I always step in. I fucking step in. Always. Why I do that I don't know why. I feel obliged and compelled to help them. Help these fuckers who never thank me. Who just push aside all responsibility and blame me if things don't turn out. I'm not saying I'm a self-righteous bastard who wants to help everyone. But sometimes a little thank you would be nice. Sometimes some empathy would be nice. Getting down with the illness. Let's hope it doesn't affect my performance. Sunday, August 17, 2014

Missing lifts, Breaking form
The week has been kind of unforgiving.
First I sustain a hairline fracture on my toe.
My diet goes out of control for these few days.
My form breaks down when the weight got heavy.
And I missed my lift.
Not to mention the whole bunch of shit I receive at work.
Sometimes, things just don't happen as planned.

Stumble and fall
So a 5 lbs plate fell on my big toe.
Yikes. Doesn't mean I'll be stopping my squats and lifts. No burpees though. Yay. Wednesday, August 6, 2014
